BRAZORIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Brazoria Chamber of Commerce helps promote and strengthen businesses and provide resources that allow us to serve as the front door to the community.

Our Mission

Our mission at the Brazoria Chamber of Commerce is to organize and advance the economic, commercial, industrial, cultural, educational, social and civic interests of the Brazoria community, market, and trade area.

What is a Chamber?

A non-profit business organization consisting of varied local businesses, organizations, professionals, and individuals.

A coalition committed to building a healthy economy and improving the quality of life within the local community.

A synergistic association, where the cooperative effects of many far exceeds that of any independent few.

An organization committed to action through carefully planned programs- these programs should include

Who is the Chamber?

Everyone involved in the chamber of commerce has an important role in assuring the organization's success. These Include...

MEMBERS
Businesses, organizations, and individuals working together to improve the community in which they reside.

COMMITTEES
The organizations objectives are best achieved by small groups of the membership engaging in a common goal.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Elected members of the organization, these individuals are charged with determining the policies with direct affairs of the chamber. Directors do not implement policy- they employ an administrator to carry out board decisions.

OFFICERS
The Executive Committee is comprised of the Chairman of the board, a Chair-elect, one or more Vice-chairmen, a secretary/treasurer, and Past Chairmen. These officers provide leadership and direction to the board.

STAFF
A paid Executive Director is hired by the board to be responsible for the daily management of the chamber, and for employing and managing the staff.

What does a Board Member do?

As a member of the policy-forming branch of the chamber, it is your responsibility to maintain close contact with its members order to identify the most important needs of the community. Then, you can determine the programs needed to fulfill the chamber's specific objectives.

Want to become a Brazoria Chamber Board Member?

1. Must be a member of the Brazoria Chamber of Commerce.
2. Participate in your community events.
3. Contact the Executive Director on how you can be a Chamber Board Member.
4. Be a team player.
5. Serve as a resource to committees.
6. Be able to think creatively when solving the chamber's issues and using your business background when making decisions.
7. Prepare for and attend all board meetings.
8. Assist the chamber in accomplishing its goals and staying within budget.
9. Help estabilish short term and long term goals for the chamber and assist in achieving those goals.
10. Stay informed with board committees and your community.

Our Yearly Events

Chamber Banquet

The Brazoria Chamber of Commerce Banquet is held the 2nd Thursday in September.

Christmas In Brazoria

Christmas in Brazoria is held the 2nd Saturday in December every year. It’s a fun festival to get the Community ready for the Christmas season. Vendors, Santa, and free family entertainment.

No Name Festival

The Brazoria Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual NoName Festival the second weekend in June at the Brazoria Heritage Foundation Civic Center.
